At our St Dominique site in Haiti, children attend school and activities within a central compound. Orphans and staff who live on-site at the orphanage also have their sleeping quarters nearby. The security and convenience of having things located in a central area is reassuring and fosters a sense of community. One of the favourite areas of the compound is the basketball court, which is always bustling with activity! Basketball is a beloved sport and is certainly a top passion for many of the children at St Dominique’s.

These focused and ambitious high school students from our St Dominique site in Haiti are taking a quick break before their next class begins. Teens who make it to this level of their studies often take their studies seriously, as high levels of poverty make it difficult for many children in Haiti to access education. Only 30% of children complete grade six and nearly half of all Haitians are illiterate. Through child sponsorship, children like the orphans and surrounding sponsored teens at our St Dominique site can access quality education to prepare themselves for university and a brighter future. We deeply thank our kind and loving sponsors for their support!

These little ones from our St Dominique site in Haiti are elementary school students, eager to attend school for a full day of learning. Though each school in Haiti usually features different uniforms, the school uniforms all have one thing in common: girls usually wear beautiful, intricate ribbons or beads in their hair.
Andrew Hachey Lord, I thank you that you are not only the God of truth and goodness, but also the God of beauty.....what beautiful children, accentuated by the individuality they express! 1 month ago
